Lovely Bulldogs: What's to Love and What's to Hate

Many people own bulldog dog breeds. They are cute, courageous, and loving dogs, even if they look like they are down-in-the-dumps all the time. It is just their facial expression that does this to them. Bulldogs pups are often frisky and full of energy, while adult bulldogs will sleep their day away. With this being said, you should still make sure your adult and young bulldog gets up and exercises to prevent any health issues.

Interactions with Strangers

Depending on how you have raised your great bulldog, they may be friendly with strangers, reserved, or bark at them. This varies depending on the specific dog and what they are taught. Some people like to teach their bulldogs to bark when someone comes up to the house. Others may teach their dog to sit or lick when someone comes to the door or passes by them on the street.

Interactions with Other Animals/Pets

If trained properly, the majority of the time a pet bulldog will be friendly with other pets in your home or animals that pass by them while walking along the street. If this is something you want in a dog, it would be a plus for you to own a bulldog.

Sensitive

Most bulldogs will be sweet, loving, and caring to members of their family. For instance, if they can tell that someone in their household is hurting, they may lick them or lay their head into the owner’s lap.

Remembers Training

Getting a bulldog is a great idea if you want a dog that will remember their training. Bulldogs are usually very smart. This means when you teach them a new trick, it won’t take long for them to pick up on it and remember it for further training sessions.

Easy to Groom

If you are thinking of getting a dog, but you want one that is easy to groom, a bulldog is perfect for you. They have short hair and it won’t get tangled up like many other dog breeds.

Possessive Over Food

One thing that many people don’t like about bulldogs is how possessive they are over the food they are served. Due to this personality trait, it is highly recommended that you don’t feed your bulldog around other animals or children.

Tenacity

Many bulldogs are quite tenacious. This means that if your bulldog has made up their mind to do or not to do something, it is tough to change their mind. This is something that many people don’t like about bulldogs.

Drooling

Many people don’t want a dog that drools all over the place. If this is the case, you probably shouldn’t get a bulldog, as they drool a lot. This is especially true when they are playing around, eating, or drinking. These are some of the things that you can love and hate about bulldogs. If you are thinking of getting a bulldog, hopefully, this information will help you to decide if that is the right choice for you and/or your family.
