Spice up your pet’s chow with a scrumptious apple topping. Safe for dogs and cats, this recipe is better served over dry food but can be mixed into wet food as well. To create a heartier topping, just add a ⅓-¼ cup of cooked organic rolled oats. Refrigerate for up to one day.

Ingredients

1 Organic Granny Smith Apple, sliced thin
2 tsp Unrefined Organic Coconut Oil
1/4 cup Raw Manuka Honey
2 tbsp Plain Organic Yogurt
1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

Directions

Preheat a medium to a large cast-iron skillet on medium heat.
Mix the honey, yogurt, and vanilla extract in a small bowl set aside.
Add 2 teaspoons of coconut to the pan. Once the oil has melted add the apples to the pan.
Stir apples every few seconds until they begin to soften.
Add the mixture from the bowl to the pan, fold apples in the sauce.
Saute the apple for an additional 3 minutes and remove from heat.
Allow apples to cool before serving.
